The Japanese Friendship Gardens is such a lovely spot for weddings. It feels so intimate and out of the ordinary in a bustling San Diego. Hidden in a valley with creeks and water falls and koi fish, it’s a relaxing and romantic venue. And it’s perfect for a wedding! Stephanie was very excited to put on her flower crown and her bridesmaids had Mickey ear flower crowns that were so cute. I loved hearing the special story about her mom and how she’d be dancing with her dad to a song her mom sang. Her mom gave her the necklace she wore in her memory which was so special. They had their own filter on snapchat which was super fun. They had a Disney theme throughout the whole wedding. The programs for the ceremony and all the details at the reception.
The two of them had their first look overlooking the koi pond and they were so cute. They met at work and their first date was at Disneyland, and now they were finally getting married! Japanese Friendship Gardens is right in Balboa Park so after their first look, they headed up to do photos. Their ceremony was heartfelt and sweet. Their personal vows were lovely and they did a glass mixing ceremony.
After their ceremony, all the guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the wedding party did some more photos. Stephanie and Dan had some more private photos around the gardens, so pretty! The name cards were all different rides at Disneyland and their guest book was the Adventure book from UP. Even their cake topper is them with Mickey ears. Loved all the details!
They had some very nice speeches and the father & daughter dance to her mom’s song was just so sweet and emotional. They had a slideshow playing of her life as well. The guests enjoyed toasting the happy couple and taking photos in the photobooth. Everyone enjoyed the dance floor and even lifted the bride and groom up.
