Wow, what a fabulous event this was! We filmed this Escondido wedding at a private home and it was just fantastic. Chandra and Josh wanted to have a very different, non traditional wedding full of meaning and heart. They completely pulled that off. They only invited their closest family and friends and it was so intimate and sweet. I first met Chandra back in high school. I remember her being so cool, she was in a band!! She was a very talented singer and still is today. We reconnected through a mutual friend and I got to see her perform a couple times as Glinda in the musical Wicked! I even got a little tour back stage. That was pretty awesome. Fast forward to last year and she got engaged to the love of her life and wanted us to be there to capture her big day.
The day started with the guys and girls each getting ready. Everyone was so laid back and relaxed, they were having fun and just being in the moment. In fact, they had an unplugged wedding so everyone could really be in the moment with them. Her dress was so cool and I can honestly say it’s the first time I’ve seen one like that. I love that Chandra left Josh a Larabar, “just in case”, so sweet.
They didn’t see each other before the ceremony and it made her entrance so fun. They didn’t do a traditional processional, she just walked in and the ceremony started. The officiants did an incredible job describing the two and their love for one another. And their EPIC vows really said it all. All night we heard guests raving about how great their vows were. They really spent time crafting those sweet words to each other.
While they went off to sign documents and have a few photos, the guests enjoyed cocktails and snacks. The reception was also very non traditional with everyone sitting at one banquet table enjoying dinner together. They had a couple toasts, a first dance and cake cutting but the rest of the night was just mingling with desserts by the pool, frogs croaking in the background. The night was perfect in the cool Escondido air and everyone had a wonderful time. Hope you enjoy!!
