Jen + Jay – Long Beach Wedding Films

Jen and Jay had their Long Beach Wedding at the Museum of Art. The two love to dance and that theme ran through their story. We just loved that! They talked about it in their vows, their friends talked about it in the speeches, and the two performed choreographed dances. They even had all the table named different types of dances and hand painted watercolor and drawings!

Jay was a little nervous and emotional as the day began and nothing could wipe the smile from Jen’s face. As guests entered the museum, they were welcomed with an instant photo taken which they could then add to the fun string art of California. It was a fun and unique welcome booth. The ceremony was overlooking the ocean and outside. Jen and Jay not only had lovely personal vows, but their officiant told their story as well. We loved seeing the joy on everyone’s face during the ceremony but Jay’s reaction when Jen came down the aisle was the best! We just love seeing that! This wedding is also proof that you can have a first look and still have a great reaction down the aisle.

The reception was just full of fun. The speeches were really great, the decor was simple and beautiful and the guests even got to wander through the museum during cocktail hour to check out the installations. Each of the bridal party for the grand entrance did a fun dance and of course our dancing couple made a fun entrance as well. The dance floor was packed and everyone had a wonderful time. We hope you enjoy this Long Beach wedding!!

Marley + Keith – Marriott Marquis Wedding

We had such a lovely time working with Marley and Keith. We filmed Marley’s brother’s wedding a few years ago and just loved working with their family.  Marley and Keith met at a comedy club and comedy and laughter are at the center of their friendship and relationship. We even filmed a quick little clip during their wedding day of a little skit they do as a comedy duo Sweet Puppy. Keith’s getting ready time was a hoot and Marley had some sweet moments with her girls.

The ceremony followed a Ketubah signing and was on the roof of the Marriott Marquis. We just loved their vows and how they were such good storytellers with them. They each spoke of their feelings throughout the early time of their relationship, each adding in a bit of fun and funny to the serious and meaningful. They seem to have such a great balance of those things in their life together.

Marley’s parents gave a lovely toast to kick off the reception. After the grand entrance and first dance Marley changed into her reception dress which was covered in giant white sequins, it was so fabulous! They did some fun sunset photos and enjoyed the rest of the reception festivities.

We loved all the succulents and ferns in the floral arrangements and the figs on the cake were a nice touch. The speeches were funny as expected and Marley’s parents surprised the two with a live band for dancing. Marley and Keith not only love comedy but they love dancing as well so they got some amazing dance sets in during the band time. They danced the night away and had fun in the photobooth. This wedding was so much fun and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

From the couple: SidebySide made a beautiful wedding video for my brother and so I wanted them for my special day 4 years later. What impressed me most is that they do NOT have a cookie cutter approach. We asked for some things to be similar and some things to be different from the work they did for my brother’s wedding, and they listened carefully to our requests – providing a product that is exactly what my husband and I wanted! I highly recommend.

Brittany and Dan – Temecula Wedding Films

These two adorable lovebirds met when they were kids. They grew up together and eventually grew together as a couple. Their story is so great and we loved getting to capture it and create their wedding film. They got married at Villa de Amore in Temecula. They had a very small wedding party, only one person each and got ready with them and their families. Dan was so sweet with his mom and grandma and Brittany had some really sweet moments with her matron of honor. Once she was ready, she had a first look with her dad which was really sweet. Dan and Brittany didn’t have a first look and it was so worth seeing his face when she walked down the aisle!

At the welcome table, they had a Jenga game and everyone signed the pieces as the guest book. And the table assignments hung on macrame were a nice touch! We loved their personal vows and the fact that Dan taught Brittany to ride a bike. It’s so neat to see not only high school sweethearts but grade school sweethearts! They were showered with rose petals at the end of the ceremony, took a group photo and then headed out for some amazing photos.

On their wedding day there were fires pretty close to where we were. Luckily the winds went the other direction and we weren’t in any danger. And the smoke made for a gorgeous afternoon sky and sunset. The guests enjoyed a windy cocktail hour, drinks and food. And the reception details were very pretty. We loved the succulents on the cake, the glitter on the cupcakes and the flowers, especially Brittany’s bouquet.

They had really nice speeches, a lovely first dance and tons of people on the dance floor. With late night snacks of tacos, a super fun photo booth and a sunset cake cutting, the evening was just magical. We hope you enjoy this sweet couple!

Jenna + Cody – Twin Oaks Garden Estate

We were so honored when Jenna and Cody chose to work with us. We filmed Cody’s sister’s wedding seven years ago! They had a beautiful summer Twin Oaks Garden Estate Wedding. The bride got ready in the bridal room and had a lovely time with her ladies and her adorable niece and nephew to be. Her girls gave her a book where everyone had written letters to her and it was so sweet. We loved the sweet moment Cody had with his mom after he got ready. After they were both ready they had a time to pray together. It wasn’t a first look as they were hiding behind the door and just holding hands and it was a special time for the both of them. Jenna also had a first look with her dad and he showed off his awesome socks that said “of all our walks together, this one is my favorite”.

The ceremony was beautiful with a garden full of smiling faces. They did a cord ceremony and read personal vows that they each wrote to each other. We especially loved the flowy fabric that Jenny walked through and of course watching Cody see his bride for the first time was just great.

Following the ceremony everyone did photo time and cocktail hour. The light was so pretty and Jenna and Cody are so adorable together! Twin Oaks Garden Estate boasts many great pockets of hang out spots for cocktail hour. There’s a cute bar area, another spot full of succulents and a lawn perfect for lawn games.

The reception was in the tent and the decor was so beautiful. They had photos lining the shelves of the two and their family members. They had a donut wall, beautiful flowers and a sprig of rosemary at every place setting. After all the reception events they danced the night away! We hope you enjoy this fabulous couple!

Lolita + Reynan – Japanese Friendship Gardens

Lolita and Reynan had a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Japanese Friendship Gardens in Balboa Park, San Diego! The two had a beautiful ceremony and small family dinner afterward. We loved all the venue details and their ceremony details. They had a really neat rock blessing ceremony where everyone came up one by one and put a blessing on a rock. Then they placed the rocks into a pretty box that the couple will keep as a beautiful decoration and memory from their wedding day!

We started the day filming the bride getting ready with her sister. They then had a super sweet first look. His reaction was so great and I loved how at the end they asked if each other were ready. And it was a confident yes from both of them of course! They had a lovely photo shoot after that. The ceremony was right by the koi pond and was so pretty! Lolita’s mom and brother walked her down the aisle and the couple shared personal vows. The flower girl and ring bearer, their niece and nephew were just the absolute cutest!

After the ceremony they did more photos with their family and friends and signed the marriage license. They did some photos in the lovely Balboa Park and then headed up to their intimate family dinner. The flowers were so pretty and the name tile coasters were fabulous. I loved their cake topper as well.

We hope you enjoy this lovely couple as much as we did!
