Sydney – San Diego Bat Mitzvah

This was such a fun event for us! Years ago, we did a fun family video for this family. The girls were adorable little toddlers at the time. We’ve kept in touch with this sweet family and were so excited when they got in touch because their oldest daughter was turning 13! After 10 years in the business, believe it or not this was the first San Diego Bat Mitzvah we’ve filmed! It was really fun to see all the kids having fun together celebrating their friend.

They had a ceremony earlier in the day that we weren’t allowed to film but we did take a few photos. Then later in the evening, they had all the fun. First they had a cocktail hour for both the adults and the teens. The adults had a bar and fancy appetizers while the teens had fun kid friendly drinks and also fun appetizers like mozzarella sticks.

After the cocktail hour time, the teens got to go in and enjoy some dancing and fun by themselves before all the adults joined them. They had an awesome DJ who kept all the guests entertained with games and dancing. They had fun airbrushed favors of choice and a hilarious magician as well. After the teen time, the adults joined them and they had a grand entrance, Hora and tons of dancing.

Sydney had an adorable speech where she included her family and friends in the lighting of her thirteen candles. You could just see how much her parents were beaming and proud of their little girl! Dinner was amazing with different food stations and lots of variety. Everyone had an amazing time as you can see from all the dancing! This group was just so fun, what a great event.

Heidi + Manny – Tom Ham’s Lighthouse Wedding

We were so excited to work at this Tom Ham’s Lighthouse Wedding with Heidi and Manny! We actually filmed her sister’s wedding about 7 years ago. It was so great that their family wanted to work with us again, we absolutely love that. Heidi and Manny got ready at two different homes with their friends and family. Heidi wore here mom’s beautiful veil and the flower girl, her niece, was the cutest thing. She gave her parents really sweet gifts. Manny had drinks and laughs with his friends until their limo came. Unfortunately the limo broke down and they had a bit of an adventure attempting to get to the first look location!

They had their first look at the Junipero Serra Museum and did a bunch of fun photos with their wedding party there. It was very pretty and they were just so excited to see each other. I loved Manny’s reaction seeing his bride.

Their ceremony was on the lawn facing the bay at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse under their beautiful archway. The pastor had some really great advice about marriage and Heidi and Manny wrote personal vows to each other.

At cocktail hour, they had a mariachi band for the guests to enjoy while looking over the bay at the boats going by. That theme continued as the guests picked up their name cards on the way to the reception as they were tied on to bottles of hot sauce!

They had beautifully simple centerpieces with purple flowers and glass bottles. The guests had fun in the photobooth and dancing at the reception. They had nice speeches and fun dancing all night. We hope you enjoy Heidi and Manny’s wedding!

Amy + David – Del Mar Wedding

Amy and David are the cutest high school sweethearts you will ever meet. The two couldn’t stop smiling all day, there were no nerves and no worries. Amy gave her girls really nice gifts and she gave her parents really sweet handkerchiefs. David gave his groomsmen individualized mugs with their faces and things they like to do. All the guys thought they were funny. You could just tell they were ready to have an awesome day at their Del Mar wedding!

The first look was no different, no nerves and smiles all around. I mean, they were just giddy! “Am I allowed to kiss her?” They did some portraits just the two of them and then we all headed over to Seagrove Park for the ceremony. Their ceremony was full of color and the bright sunny day fit them perfectly. I don’t think there was a moment where they stopped smiling. Their friend officiated which added a nice personal touch and their vows were amazing! “We met in 10th grade chemistry class. Lots of chemistry happened indeed.” It’s so neat hearing vows when couples have a lot of history together.

Cocktail hour was on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Guests enjoyed snacks and a milk tea cocktail that sounded amazing. I wish I could have been a guest at this Del Mar wedding so I could try it! They took some more photos and then headed in for the reception. The dinner was up top at L’Auberge and so the guests enjoyed the sunset during dinner. Amy hand wrote all the guest cards in both English and Chinese on seashells.

Then everyone headed downstairs for dancing. Amy and David memorized the choreography from Ed Shireen’s Thinking out Loud and did an amazing first dance. It was seriously awesome. Then everyone danced the night away. Enjoy this beautifully happy wedding!

From the couple: Just wanted to say THANK YOU! The highlight and feature were both really amazing! I teared up watching the videos! 🙂

Cheryl + Brian – Lomas Santa Fe Country Club

Oh man, this was such a great wedding! Cheryl and Brian celebrated their big day at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. It was a very beautiful day, filled with so much love and an amazing team of vendors to pull it all off. The getting ready started off with both Cheryl and Brian filling out their vows to each other and enjoying time with their friends. Brian helped his adorable sons get dressed and the flower girl was just so sweet. Cheryl was just beaming, so incredibly happy to be joining her love.

Their first look was on a bridge over a pond with ducks swimming around. I loved it because they weren’t sure if they were allowed to kiss! Haha. They had a beautiful photo time with just them and then their family. The ceremony spot was so pretty. I loved the archway and all the flowers. It was a very special ceremony with awesome advice and the “team hug” with Brian’s sons. Their personal vows were so meaningful and deep and you can just tell that they are ready to start their life together.

Cocktail hour was really fun with live music and delicious food. The guests enjoyed the company and the sunset! And Cheryl and Brian enjoyed a little more photo time with the gorgeous light as well. I loved the guest “cards” which were pieces of sea glass with each name hand written. The reception decor was really pretty with beautiful flowers, driftwood and the sea glass. And can we talk about the dessert bar for a minute? So amazing! Everything was coordinated and decorated so nicely.

The reception was super fun with lots of dancing and love, great speeches and food! We had such a nice time with this lovely couple and we hope you enjoy their beautiful wedding day!

From the couple: We are so thankful that we decided to have Danielle and Jared of Side by Side Cinema with us on our big day. We went back and forth on videography but knew it would be worth it and it absolutely was….we received our videos in the mail this weekend and were AMAZED with what they put together for us. We can’t thank them enough for capturing our most special moments and allowing us to experience it all over again. It was a pleasure to work with both of them and we would recommend them to anyone!

Wetting Down Ceremony – San Diego Events

Of all the San Diego events that we do, weddings makes up the bulk. But recently we got to film a few different types of events. One of them was this one, a Wetting Down Ceremony, where someone gets promoted to Captain in the military. They were celebrating two men achieving this awesome goal!

First, they had the ceremony on the USS Midway Museum down in San Diego. They each gave speeches and had special people in their lives pin on the badges.

After the ceremony they had a house party that was so awesome. They had a made to order taco bar and a terrific 80’s cover band! Everyone had a great time listening to speeches, eating, enjoying friends and dancing to the band.

The two captains did a cake cutting too and all the guests wore mustaches to celebrate.

Hope you enjoy this fun event!

Kristina + John – Seagrove Park Wedding

We had another beautiful Seagrove Park wedding this year. Kristina and John had such an awesome day! They got ready and had their reception at L’Auberge Del Mar. Kristina and her sisters and bridesmaids had so much fun during the getting ready. She was so silly and they were all laughing the whole time. She had her grandma on Skype on her ipad so she could see all the activities, that was so sweet. After Kristina and John got ready, they met for their first look.

Their first look was so great. They decided to exchange personal vows during that time instead of at the ceremony and we thought that was so awesome! They weren’t nervous and the vows were just wonderful. After that, they had a lovely photo time and then headed over to the ceremony. It was beautiful and you could tell they were just having so much fun all day.

They did some more photos after the ceremony and the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Dinner was served on the upper level at L’auberge and it was just gorgeous. There were nice speeches and dances on that level and then they eventually moved down to the lower level for dancing with a band. I loved that Kristina’s dad was so into all the dancing. They all had such a great time and you could just see all the joy all day. Hope you enjoy this beautiful wedding!

From the couple: Danielle and Jared are amazing. We couldn’t even decide if we wanted a wedding video. I am so happy we were able to meet Danielle and Jared and had them as a part of our special day. The video is incredible and they were so fun to work with. Can’t recommend them highly enough!
