Cheryl + Brian – Lomas Santa Fe Country Club

Oh man, this was such a great wedding! Cheryl and Brian celebrated their big day at Lomas Santa Fe Country Club. It was a very beautiful day, filled with so much love and an amazing team of vendors to pull it all off. The getting ready started off with both Cheryl and Brian filling out their vows to each other and enjoying time with their friends. Brian helped his adorable sons get dressed and the flower girl was just so sweet. Cheryl was just beaming, so incredibly happy to be joining her love.

Their first look was on a bridge over a pond with ducks swimming around. I loved it because they weren’t sure if they were allowed to kiss! Haha. They had a beautiful photo time with just them and then their family. The ceremony spot was so pretty. I loved the archway and all the flowers. It was a very special ceremony with awesome advice and the “team hug” with Brian’s sons. Their personal vows were so meaningful and deep and you can just tell that they are ready to start their life together.

Cocktail hour was really fun with live music and delicious food. The guests enjoyed the company and the sunset! And Cheryl and Brian enjoyed a little more photo time with the gorgeous light as well. I loved the guest “cards” which were pieces of sea glass with each name hand written. The reception decor was really pretty with beautiful flowers, driftwood and the sea glass. And can we talk about the dessert bar for a minute? So amazing! Everything was coordinated and decorated so nicely.

The reception was super fun with lots of dancing and love, great speeches and food! We had such a nice time with this lovely couple and we hope you enjoy their beautiful wedding day!

From the couple: We are so thankful that we decided to have Danielle and Jared of Side by Side Cinema with us on our big day. We went back and forth on videography but knew it would be worth it and it absolutely was….we received our videos in the mail this weekend and were AMAZED with what they put together for us. We can’t thank them enough for capturing our most special moments and allowing us to experience it all over again. It was a pleasure to work with both of them and we would recommend them to anyone!

Wetting Down Ceremony – San Diego Events

Of all the San Diego events that we do, weddings makes up the bulk. But recently we got to film a few different types of events. One of them was this one, a Wetting Down Ceremony, where someone gets promoted to Captain in the military. They were celebrating two men achieving this awesome goal!

First, they had the ceremony on the USS Midway Museum down in San Diego. They each gave speeches and had special people in their lives pin on the badges.

After the ceremony they had a house party that was so awesome. They had a made to order taco bar and a terrific 80’s cover band! Everyone had a great time listening to speeches, eating, enjoying friends and dancing to the band.

The two captains did a cake cutting too and all the guests wore mustaches to celebrate.

Hope you enjoy this fun event!

Kristina + John – Seagrove Park Wedding

We had another beautiful Seagrove Park wedding this year. Kristina and John had such an awesome day! They got ready and had their reception at L’Auberge Del Mar. Kristina and her sisters and bridesmaids had so much fun during the getting ready. She was so silly and they were all laughing the whole time. She had her grandma on Skype on her ipad so she could see all the activities, that was so sweet. After Kristina and John got ready, they met for their first look.

Their first look was so great. They decided to exchange personal vows during that time instead of at the ceremony and we thought that was so awesome! They weren’t nervous and the vows were just wonderful. After that, they had a lovely photo time and then headed over to the ceremony. It was beautiful and you could tell they were just having so much fun all day.

They did some more photos after the ceremony and the guests enjoyed cocktail hour. Dinner was served on the upper level at L’auberge and it was just gorgeous. There were nice speeches and dances on that level and then they eventually moved down to the lower level for dancing with a band. I loved that Kristina’s dad was so into all the dancing. They all had such a great time and you could just see all the joy all day. Hope you enjoy this beautiful wedding!

From the couple: Danielle and Jared are amazing. We couldn’t even decide if we wanted a wedding video. I am so happy we were able to meet Danielle and Jared and had them as a part of our special day. The video is incredible and they were so fun to work with. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Larissa + Michael – L’Auberge Wedding

Today I’m posting another L’Auberge wedding. Larissa and Michael had a small gathering to celebrate their wedding after 10 years of being together! They had a slow and relaxing day, each with their closest friends and family. Larissa’s friends were laughing with her about photos from high school and she was reminiscing about her years with Michael. Her dress was amazing, especially the detail on the back and her hair clip tied everything in perfectly. Michael read a sweet note from his bride, and couldn’t wait to see her at the ceremony.

They didn’t have a first look and so Michael saw his bride for the first time as she walked down the aisle. The day was beautiful and warm and the ceremony was so nice. The officiant did a great job and it was so neat to see the two finally tie the knot.

After the ceremony, Larissa and Michael headed down to the beach for some awesome photo time. Their guests relaxed for a while in the meantime until their reception. Their photo time was so fun, they just looked so happy and the lighting was so pretty!

All the guests headed in to their cocktail/reception time back at L’Auberge. Larissa and Michael did a grand entrance and first dance. Then they did a bunch of photos with all their friends. They did some dancing and a couple speeches and then they had dinner. It was a shorter time that we were there and a shorter wedding in general but they had so much love and fun in those hours! You could just tell how much joy and happiness there was to celebrate these two after being together all these years. Congratulations you two! Hope you enjoy this L’Auberge wedding!

Brittany + Dave – Seaside Elopement

Brittany and Dave chose Encinitas for their seaside elopement this past summer. They rented a beautiful house (and we learned that it was actually Shawn White’s house that he was selling!) and spent a few days just relaxing with their little family. Dave got the boys and himself ready while Brittany finished her last touches of details. I loved all the dainty sparkly things and her “shoes” were adorable. The boys with their hats were to die for!

Their ceremony was on a landing on the cliff overlooking the ocean. It was the smallest ceremony we’ve ever filmed. Just the two of them and their two boys! They had amazing personal vows and I just loved that you could hear their kids in the background and they even had to hold the baby during the rings. It just was perfect because the kids were so much a part of the day and sometimes life is just messy and your kids need a snack during the ceremony!

After the ceremony, they had an awesome sunset for photo time. The baby was thrilled with the sand and their other son just wanted to play in the waves. They are such an adorable family. While they were taking photos, the chef was making their meal. They had an intimate dinner that looked absolutely delicious.

Because this was an elopement, there was only a ceremony, no reception events. But once the sun went down, we did some fun night shots with them with sparklers and lanterns. It was a beautiful night and a romantic seaside elopement. We hope they had an amazing time here in California, congratulations you two!

Birch Aquarium – Olivia + Kris

Olivia and Kris had a fabulous wedding at the Birch Aquarium in San Diego. They got ready nearby at Hilton La Jolly Torrey Pines and had so much fun. The girls were hilarious practicing their dance moves for the first dance. They even included a giant shark stuffed animal, which would make it’s appearance much later in the night.

Their first look was in the beautiful succulent garden at the Hilton. They were so adorable at the first look. She hid behind her gorgeous bouquet after Kris turned around so she could pop out from behind it. They did some romantic photos and photos with their bridal party before heading to the venue.

The Birch Aquarium in San Diego was such a fabulous venue. It was our first time working there but we had been there with our kids before so it was kind of nice to know where everything was ahead of time. We got some awesome shots of the sea life and the ceremony and reception set up before all the guests arrived for the ceremony and reception.

Their ceremony was looking out over the ocean and in front of a handmade backdrop. The flowers were incredible and there was the sound of the tidepool creating a relaxing ambiance. The officiant had lots of neat things to say and related their wedding and relationship to the ocean of course. After the ceremony, the guests were free to roam the entire aquarium which was really neat. They had cocktail hour outside and Olivia and Kris finished up some photos by the cliffs and in the aquarium.

The reception was inside the main area with sharks hanging overhead and a school of fish swimming behind the head table. The tables were beautiful and the reception energy was high. The first dance was hilarious with the whole bridal party involved with Disney songs and the stuffed shark! The stuffed shark made it’s final appearance as it was tossed instead of a bouquet or garter.

Hope you enjoy this super fun and beautiful wedding!
